About Peter Moran:

Peter Moran MBA CEng CEM CMVPis a proven senior energy management, engineering management and Six-Sigma professional with extensive experience in highly regulated and high-tech manufacturing sectors. He has a proven track record in energy management delivering substantial energy efficiency improvements, energy cost reduction and significant CO2reduction through utilising his leadership, management and engineering skills to the maximum effect with a proven track record of outstanding accomplishments in promoting the practices, principles of energy management and sustainable development, whilst delivering energy costs saving, energy efficiency increases and reductions in CO2footprint.

By applying energy management and Lean Six-Sigma practices and principles, Peter has delivered outstanding accomplishments in the various organisations he has worked for. Peter was employed by Masonite International (1999 -2010) where he delivered costs savings, energy savings, increased revenues, increased the overall plant manufacturing capacity by 66%, eliminated recurring environmental compliance issues and increased Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) by 19.5%. Peter’s achievements in Masonite have been recognised by a number of Masonite Corporate Environmental Excellence Awards.

Peter has been employed by AbbVie Ireland since 2012 where he leads the ISO 50001 energy management program. Here, the program has already delivered significant energy savings and reductions of CO2emissions to date. His achievements have been recognised in a number of National Awards (i.e. SEAI and Green Awards) and International Awards (e.g. 2016 AEE Award forInternational Energy Project of the Year and2015 AEE Award for Corporate Energy Management in Western Europe).

Some key features of Peter’s energy management style are delivering through team work, by being innovative and through the sustainable use of resources whilst prioritising the needs of the wider environment and society. Peter places a particular focus on engagement in identifying new innovations and in ensuring that improvements are sustained. Other key drivers include implementing best-practice solutions that are innovative, replicable and an overall focus on being a leader in environmental and energy management. One of Peter’s key strengths is in the promotion of the practices, principles of energy management and sustainable development. Throughout his career Peter continuously aspires to be a leader in pushing the boundaries of sustainability.

Peter’s professional and academic qualifications include a Black Belt in Lean Systems, a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) and an Honours Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Peter has achieved the Title of Chartered Engineer (CEng) by Engineers Ireland, Certified Energy Manager (CEM) certification by the AEE and Certified Measurement & Verification Professional (CMVP) certification by the AEE. Peter is also a certified ISO 50001 Lead Auditor.

Peter received the 2017 Western Europe Energy Manager of the Yearfrom the AEE in recognition of outstanding accomplishments in promoting the practices, principles of energy management and development, and for superior service to the AEE.
